The elections have come and gone. It was a battle royale. Of the twenty six parties that contested the elections nationally, the United Christian Democratic Party came out smarting with wounds, down but not out. We lost 2 seats one in the National assembly and the other in the North West provincial legislature.
We however come out of the hot contest with our dignity in tact. Our members have shown that if we had resources like some of the other parties, we would make a statement. There is no doubt that the UCDP is a brand. Some parties have bitten the dust while others are smarting from the losses they suffered. We still hold our heads high in pride. Come the next election the UCDP will have grown wiser.
"The UCDP thanks all the 66 086 voters in South Africa who secured the party a seat in the National Assembly and the 56 678 in the North West Province who secured the party 1 seat in the National Assembly and 2 in the North West Legislature.
The efforts of the North West voters will also secure the party a seat in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP).
All in all the UCDP will have 5 elected representatives.
Bravo UCDP! !"
