ACDP welcomes Mpshe’s approach to retaining prostitution as a criminal act.

ACDP MP and Whip, Cheryllyn Dudley:

The ACDP welcomes the serious note of caution given by Acting prosecutions head Adv Mokotedi Mpshe over attempts to decriminalize prostitution. We applaud him for bringing attention to the fact that such an act will affect the morals of the nation.

South Africans need leadership toward restored morality not less of it; AIDS continues to devastate communities, deplete national health reserves, destroy a generation of skilled people leaving millions of children as orphans and is largely the result of lapsed morals.

The ACDP adds its voice of caution; would you want your husband, wife, daughter or son, mother or father involved in prostitution? Prostitution is a wrecker of relationships, families and communities and must not be allowed to become a career choice.
